Lawn Doctor is looking for an experienced full-time lawn care technician who takes pride in their work.

This is not a “spray it and move on” job.

You’ll eventually take over our highest-density and most important route, currently run by the owner. We aren't looking for someone to simply maintain it.

We want someone who can make it better.

We want someone who does things right even when nobody is watching.

Someone who notices problems, pays attention to details, takes care of their truck and equipment, communicates when something isn't right, and knows when to ask instead of guessing.

You also need to be good with people. Our customers should be happy to see you pull up, and you should genuinely be comfortable talking with them.

We're looking for someone who actually gives a damn about the quality of their work.

The job


You'll treat residential lawns primarily throughout the Clermont / Oakland area.

For your first 2–3 months, you'll work closely with the owner learning the route, customers, our program, products, equipment, turf issues, and standards.

The goal isn't just to run my route. It's to eventually run it better than I do.

A completed stop isn't enough. We expect you to notice weeds, insects, disease, irrigation problems, declining turf, and anything else that needs attention.

Notice it. Think about it. Communicate it. Help us fix it.

Experience


We are looking for lawn spray/application experience.

You don't need to know every product we use, but you should already understand the basics of fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, what they're generally used for, and proper application methods.

You should be comfortable:

  • Driving and operating a larger spray truck.

  • Pulling hose and making applications.

  • Mixing/loading and working with spray equipment.

  • Understanding rates and coverage.

  • Handling basic equipment issues.

Mechanical ability is a big plus. Changing a gauge, repairing a hose or fitting, replacing a nozzle, or troubleshooting a simple equipment problem shouldn't scare you.

We aren't starting completely from zero. We'll teach you our program and how we want things done.

You do not need Florida lawn-care credentials before applying. We'll help you obtain the required GI-BMP certification and pest-control ID card.

Pay & opportunity


$19/hour starting base pay plus performance bonus opportunities.

You'll also earn 10% commission on additional services you recommend that are sold.

Starting in 2027, you'll also have the opportunity to earn up to $10,000 annually in retention bonuses for exceeding our customer-retention baseline.

If you take ownership of your route and make it better, there is real financial upside for doing so.

Non-negotiables

  • Valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to us and our insurance carrier. We pull your Motor Vehicle Record.

  • Criminal background check required.

  • Drug-free workplace with pre-employment drug testing.

  • Able to work outdoors, pull hose, operate equipment, lift about 50 pounds, and work independently.

This probably isn't for you if...


Our day starts around 6:30–6:45 AM and ends when your work is finished. Most days that's before 4:00 PM. Some aren't.

If you're constantly watching the clock, regularly need to leave early, struggle to show up on time, or have somewhere you absolutely need to be every afternoon, this isn't for you.

If you realize you missed something and doing it correctly means driving 20 minutes back, we expect you to go back and finish it.

Your route is your responsibility. Your work gets finished.

This also isn't for you if you rush, avoid customers, do the minimum, ignore problems, guess instead of asking, hide mistakes, or leave your equipment for someone else to deal with.

We don't expect perfection.

We do expect honesty, reliability, attention to detail, improvement, and ownership.
